Disaster Ride
threw the mnt bike together and headed out, 18 degrees, grey late afternoon.
found myself on a frozen two track path more ice than not, less than half my gear working, after a few falls I stopped to let some air out of the tires to help the spike dig in better. Back on hard frozen dirt I’d let too much air out, maybe a pinch flat, getting dark now, not really sure where I was, tried to refill a tire with an old inflator which just fizzled all over the place. Had an old hand pump which in the course of discovering didn’t work let all the air out of both tires, no tire irons. I am walking now in the dark, love the adventure. going to include a cig lighter in my pack from now on, can start a big mother fuckin fire if I need too.
Cell phone, call friend with foot pump arrives and home again.
Reasons why today is fucking owning:
My MIL showed up and brought with her the holy grail of coffee.
I got a case of steaks delivered to my door courtesy of my dad. He does Christmas right.
It’s Wednesday and my favorite tumblrs have been very busy posting their gorgeous faces.
I’ve obviously been drinking. (my face gives it away, doesn’t it?)
I made a perfect crab and corn bisque.
Said MIL is babysitting tonight so I can go tipsy shopping followed by some brews at the local Irish tavern.

have been sitting around too much lately, tonight put my studded tires on the mnt bike and will start getting out on some winter rides, 10 miles, 10 degrees works for me. there is not degree symbol on the keyboard
FYI: It’s all about putting plastic bags over your socks.
the plastic bag thing works, try putting them next to your skin though
